Plaxico Burress Vows to Not Shank Himself in the Leg While in Prison

Despite a much publicized case, Plaxico Burress has not spoken publicly about shooting himself in the leg. He finally talked about the shooting in an interview with ESPN's Jeremy Schaap. Plax wants America to know that he has learned his lesson about injuring himself, and he vows to not shank himself in the leg when he serves his prison term.

"I made a mistake," said Burress. "I put a lot of people in danger, and I could have been seriously injured when I shot myself in the leg. Good thing I can't have a gun in prison. But since shanks are now the weapon of choice, I vow that I will not shank myself in the leg or any other extremity while I am incarcerated."
